MAN ARRESTED FOR SMASHING INTO SQUAD CARS DURING ESCAPE
In December, the Orland Park Police located a suspect committing car burglaries in the Village. The suspect was wanted by Frankfort Police Department for Burglary and Palos Hill Police Department for Domestic Battery. The Orland Park Police coordinated an effort to take the suspect into custody. The suspect did not comply with officers and crashed his vehicle into two squad cars and one parked vehicle in order to flee the scene. They eluded capture and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. The Orland Park Police Detectives were able to locate the suspect hiding out in an apartment and the suspect was taken into custody. ORLAND PARK COMMERICAL BURGLARY ARREST In May, Orland Park Police officers observed approximately12 individuals outside of a jewelry store located in Orland Park. The individuals shattered the glass front door and entered the place of business. As officers approached, the majority of offenders fled in two vehicles and two offenders fled on foot. Orland Park Police officers captured the two offenders, a juvenile and an adult male after a brief foot chase. Officers attempted to locate the vehicles involved, but were unable to locate after they fled the area. Officers and Detectives arrived on scene for investigation and it was determined that after the glass was shattered the offenders entered the business and begin to smash glass cabinets, the offender removed jewelry and other items from in the business. We are unable to provide an exact account of what was taken at this time. This is still an active investigation and we are attempting to identify the other offenders.
