ENGINEERING PROGRAM & SERVICES DR. MARSH PROJECT - 2021

• The Village acquired the Stellwagen Family Farm as an Open Lands purchase in 2002 through an OLT grant from the IDNR and funds from the Orland Park Open Lands Corporation. The total price was approximately $6 million. The OLT grant constituted approximately $2 million. • Along with the OLT grant came a number of stipulations and requirements associated with how the Stellwagen land will be used, namely that the farmland be converted from agricultural use to prairie lands.

• Since 2009, the Village has worked with IDNR to identify a means to continue farming at Stellwagen Farm and still meet the grant requirements to create prairie lands within the Village of Orland Park. • IDNR has tentatively agreed to a $600,000 project at Dr. Marsh. • The 2021 budget includes $66,000 for 2021 to complete permitting and design. The remaining

$540,000 for construction and construction engineering would be budgeted in 2022.
