In 2021, the sustained Citizen Complaint rate was 4.76% which is lower than it was in 2020 and which falls well within the national standards for sustained complaints against law enforcement. The sustained complaint was a result of a traffic violation by an officer.

As evidenced above in the Citizen Complaints Dispositions, 16% of all complaints against members of the Orland Park Police Department were sustained over the last five years none of which were allegations of racial profiling, criminal misconduct or excessive use of force. The Orland Park Police Department responded to 209,793 calls for service in 2021 and sustained one (1) citizen complaint. This computes to one sustained complaint for all 209,793 citizen contacts.
