LETTER FROM THE MAYOR

Dear Orland Park Residents,

In addition, we have many free concerts and movies this summer at Crescent Park. Visit orlandpark.org/events for a complete list of upcoming special events. The Village’s annual Fourth of July celebration kicks-off with the annual Veterans Liberty Run & Walk on July 1 and concludes with a concert featuring 4Cast and a musical fireworks display at Centennial Park on July 4.The Taste of Orland Park will be held the weekend of August 5 through August 7 at Village Center. The Village has received many accolades over the years. Most recently, we were honored with the Website of the Year Award for our new and improved website, orlandpark.org Last, but certainly not least, we are excited to announce that we have been named one of Chicago Magazine’s Best Places to Live in the June/July 2022 issue of the publication. This is a wonderful honor for Orland Park. The Village’s natural open spaces, our proximity to downtown Chicago, great schools and a thriving real estate market were all important parts of Orland Park being named. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone around town this summer!

It’s summertime in Orland Park and it is great to see everyone out and about enjoying all Orland Park has to offer. It is truly one of my favorite times of the year when Orland Park’s parks and facilities are full of families and fun events are in full swing. Within the pages of this issue of the Village of Orland Park Newsletter you will find information about upcoming events, programs and projects in Orland Park. We hope that you find it useful and informative. Thank you to those who joined us on Memorial Day as we remembered and honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. The Orland Park community faithfully comes out in support of our area veterans and I am humbled every time I am able to attend an event. The perfect place to escape the summer heat, the Centennial Park Aquatic Center is open for the season. Market at the Park is back on Thursday nights from 4-8 p.m. for 10 full weeks of markets at Crescent Park. I am excited for the remaining Centennial Park West Concert Series as we welcome bands Elton Live! The Elton John Experience, Pearl Jam Tribute Chicago, and Without U2 Tribute on August 20 and for the final show of the series, we will bring 90s rock to the Village with Hinder, Spin Doctors, and Dishwalla on September 3.
