ORLAND PARK POLICE ARREST BURGLAR, RECOVER $40,000 IN CASH On May 26th, 2022, the Orland Park Police responded to a burglar alarm at Orland Bowl, 8601 159th Street. The first responding officer witnessed a vehicle pulling out of the parking lot upon arrival on scene. The officer conducted a traffic stop on that vehicle and identified the driver as Frederick Thomas. Backup officers checked the business and discovered that the rear glass door had been smashed out. An interior check of Orland Bowl revealed that the ATM/ Redemption machine had been broken into and its contents were missing. Officers present at the traffic stop noticed several crow bars and gloves visible in Thomas’ vehicle. The vehicle was searched and Thomas was detained for further investigation. The search uncovered two crow bars, two pairs of gloves, a grey metal box and a shopping bag containing over $40,000 in cash. Thomas was transported to Orland Park Police Department headquarters for further investigation. Surveillance video recovered from Orland Bowl showed Thomas using the crow bar to open the ATM and remove the grey metal box inside that contained the cash. Thomas is currently out on bond stemming from a similar burglary arrest that occurred on May 16, 2022 in Champaign County. Thomas was charged with one count of Commercial Burglary (Class 2 Felony) and one count of Theft (Class 2 Felony). On 05/27/2022 Thomas was transported to Bridgeview Courthouse where the Honorable Judge Lindsey Jones issued a $5000 (D) bond.

ORLAND PARK POLICE ARREST PAIR OF COMMERCIAL BURGLARS On March 13th 2022, the Orland Park Police Department responded to a burglar alarm at Binny’s Beverage Depot located at 103 Orland Park Place. Once on scene, officers discovered that the front window of the establishment was compromised. Video evidence revealed that several subjects smashed the front window with a sledge hammer and stole several cases of high-end champagne. The subsequent investigation revealed that the subjects were involved in numerous other commercial burglaries throughout the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana areas. After an extensive investigation, detectives were able to identify two of the subjects as Darrell Keller and Raymond Andrews. On April 21st 2022, the Honorable Judge Havis issued $100,000 Commercial Burglary warrants for both. On May 4th 2022, Orland Park Detectives located and arrested Keller. He was charged with one count of Commercial Burglary (Class 2 Felony). On May 10th 2022, Orland Park Detectives located and arrested Andrews. He was charged with one count of Commercial Burglary (Class 2 Felony). Both Keller and Andrews were held on their original $100,000 bonds.

FELON ON PAROLE ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY Orland Park, IL (December 08, 2022)- At 10:14 a.m., the Orland Park Police Department responded to a call of a robbery that had just occurred at a loading dock of Orland Square Mall. Upon arrival, officers learned that a FedEx driver had unloaded numerous boxes from the truck when a subject, wearing all black, approached and pointed a gun at her. The driver backed away and the subject grabbed the boxes, later learned to contain 12 MacBooks, totaling in value of $22,187, and ran to an awaiting vehicle which subsequently drove off. Later that evening, investigators were able to track down the vehicle used and placed the occupants into custody. The driver, identified as Tyshon Murray was found to have a loaded handgun in his waistband and is currently on parole. A passenger, who was identified as a 16 year old juvenile, was found to have a loaded, stolen handgun in his pocket. The vehicle and occupants were taken back to Orland Park Police Headquarters for processing and charging. The vehicle was found to contain one of the stolen MacBooks. The juvenile was charged with possession of a stolen handgun and unlawful use of a weapon. He was transported to juvenile detention. On Friday December 9th, Murray was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. Murray is currently being held on $200,000 D bond for that charge and a no bond parole warrant was issued. Charges of Armed Robbery are pending further forensic analysis.
