MODERN DANCE This class will incorporate many of the foundations of modern dance technique, including suspension and release, fall and recovery, the use of momentum and connecting breath with movement. Dancers will explore new ways of moving in combinations, floor work and partnering, and also in various methods of improvisation. No class March 24 and May 5 (class used for any makeup) Please see recital and costume measuring information to the right. IRISH DANCE Irish dancing has been around for centuries as stately dancers move to the familiar sound of tin whistles and fiddles. Under the direction of award winning Irish dance instructor, Kathie Horan, boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of the Jig and the Reel. Students are required to wear ballet shoes and comfortable clothing. No class March 23 & May 4 (class used for any makeups). Please see recital information to the right. No costume measuring needed. POINTE DANCE This class is for the advanced ballet dancer that would like to enhance their dance experience. Teacher approval is required to register for this class. Pointe shoes are required. No class March 23 & May 4 (day used for makeups). Please see recital and costume measuring information to the right. TAP III This high energy, fast-paced tap class is for the advanced tap dancer. Students will learn complex combinations with a focus on technique. Teacher approval required to register for this class. No class March 21, May 2 (class used for any makeup) and May 30. Please see recital and costume measuring information to the right. TECHNIQUE CLASS This class will teach proper ballet and jazz technique with an emphasis on turns, leaps, and jumps. Perfect for the aspiring dancer! NOTE: This is a non-recital class. No class March 24, & May 5 (class used for makeups).

The Spring Dance Recital will be held at the Carl Sandburg Performing Arts Center on June 11 & 12. Rehearsals will take place on June 8 & 9 at either 4:30pm or 6:45pm. Dancers must perform at both the rehearsal and recital. Please keep these dates open because scheduling requests WILL NOT be taken. Tickets for the recital will be $8.00 per performance date and there will be a limited number of tickets per family. If you have more than one child enrolled or they are enrolled in more than one class, performances may be held at different shows. Should there be any changes or modifications regarding the recital performances, dancers and their families will be notified as soon as possible. Mandatory costume measurements will take placeMonday, December 13 from 6:15p-8:15p, and Sunday, January 9 from 1p-3p. Students only need to attend one measurement session. Measurements will take place at the Cultural Center, 14760 Park Lane. All students must be measured by the first day of class. Irish Dance and Technique students do not need to be measured for costumes.
