CHESS SCHOLARS Develop your child’s intellect through the royal game of chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas including mathematics and language arts. Also, chess has been proven to enhance children’s motivation, concentration, focus, social skills and creativity. No previous knowledge of chess necessary. Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will get to the next level under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach. Children will learn the basics of this wonderful craft. Classes will help the students develop new talents, boost their confidence, expand their imagination and introduce them to the whole new world of theatre. Taught by the directors of Orland Park Children’s Theatre Troupe! Mrs. Tina and Mr. Bryan will make this a great experience for your child! No class February 5.

HOGWARTS A NIGHT OF MAGIC

CRITTER CLASS Get up close and personal with some of the planet’s most exotic creatures! Each week you will come face to face with various rare reptiles, amphibians and bugs. Learn about the land in which these animals are from, how they are cared for and what they do in the wild. New animals are featured each week.

The Village of Orland Park’s Cultural Art Center transforms into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on this magical night. This program begins with a letter to your little witch and/ or wizard welcoming them to this enchanted evening of spells and sorcery. Once placed in their Hogwarts’ Houses their adventure begins. Muggles welcome. Magical costumes preferred!

MAGIC CLASS Enter the fascinating and unbelievable world of magic with Gary Kantor! Children learn a collection of mesmerizing tricks to amaze friends and family! All materials are provided and each child receives a magic kit to take home. children are grouped by age and tricks are always age appropriate. Each class features new tricks so return participants are welcome!

SUPERHERO CELEBRATION

Whether you are DC, Marvel or your own brand of superhero, this is a night of fun for all! Come dressed as your favorite superhero as we play themed games and enjoy snacks even Thanos would enjoy!
