SCHUSSLER PARK ALL-INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND

In partnership with Michael and Kendall Schofield of the Schofield Family Foundation, the Village of Orland Park is excited to introduce a campaign to develop an all-inclusive playground that allows children of all abilities to play, learn, interact and grow.

SCAN ME! After extensive work, the All-Inclusive Park design was approved by the Village Board. The playground will feature accommodating play zones including a sensory zone, various inclusive play equipment, life size cutouts of Michael and Kendall and a donor wall. Design subject to change*

Our Goal: To build a universally designed, sensory-rich play environment that enables children of all abilities to develop physically, socially, cognitively and emotionally together. A truly inclusive playground is more than just accessible; it is an environment that facilitates parallel play in which children of all abilities play side-by-side, engaging with each other, and laying the groundwork for more complex social stages of play.
