CRIME-FREE RENTAL HOUSING PROGRAM

On January 19, 2009, the Village of Orland Park passed an ordinance implementing a Crime-Free Rental Housing Program for the Village of Orland Park. The purpose of this ordinance is to provide minimum standards for residential rental housing for the protection of the life, health, welfare and property of rental residential owners and tenants, as well as that of the public. Inspections facilitate the enforcement of minimum standards. The Crime-Free Rental Housing Program is a state-of-the-art, crime prevention program designed to reduce crime, drugs and gangs on rental properties. The anticipated benefits have been realized through an overall reduction of calls for service and arrests occurring on rental properties throughout the Village.
