A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR PEKAU

As the vibrant colors of fall begin to grace our Village, I am excited to share some of the recreation opportunities and special events that are highlighted in the Village’s Fall Recreation & Parks program guide. Join us on August 17th for an unforgettable evening featuring One Vision of Queen with Marc Martel, Glory Days Bruce Springsteen Tribute, and Billy Nation, a Billy Joel Tribute at Centennial Park West. This concert promises to be a highlight of the season, bringing together some of the best tribute acts for a night of fantastic music. Celebrate the season with our Great Pumpkin Party, where families can enjoy hayrides, pony rides, fall themed activities, games, costume contests, and more. It's a perfect way to get into the festive spirit of fall. Step back in time and experience history firsthand at the 1863 Civil War event at Stellwagen Farm. This educational and immersive event offers reenactments, historical displays, and activities for all ages. Explore our rich heritage with our exciting programming including an insightful presentation that delves into the historical events surrounding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy; a guided tour of the Orland Memorial Park Cemetery, where you can learn about its history and the notable figures buried there, and tours of Stellwagen Farm hosted by members of the Stellwagen family. The Sportsplex and the Orland Park Health and Fitness Center are busting with great fitness/wellness and athletic activities for all ages, interests and skill levels. Stop by for a tour and get engaged. Sportsplex will again host Active Aging Week, a special series of events and activities at the Sportsplex designed to promote health and wellness among our senior residents.
