ADMINISTRATION DIVISION - TRAINING DEVELOPMENT AND REVIEW STRATEGIC PLAN GOAL: KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

To enhance the quality of life for the people and families within the Village by providing professional, high-quality and effective police service in partnership with the community. DEPARTMENT MISSION

DIVISION FUNCTIONS

The Administration Division is responsible for budgeting, planning, inspection, training, internal affairs, and the coordination and direction of all facets of the Police Department’s five divisions to ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality police services to the residents, businesses and visitors of the Village of Orland Park. In addition, the Administration Division is responsible for the management of emergency services and disaster response for natural and man-made disasters by police and ESDA personnel.

Coordinate and Create a Comprehensive Training Team

OBJECTIVE

GOAL NO. 2

Coordinate with the newly appointed Training Sergeant to develop a training program aligned with the new 12-hour shift schedule while meeting all state-mandated training requirements and incorporating current, effective instructional content.

Enhance Training Delivery and Standardization

OBJECTIVE

Develop and implement standardized lesson plans, training outlines, and evaluation criteria to ensure high quality and consistent instruction across all training modules.

PURPOSE

To ensure all sworn officers receive training that reflects evolving state and federal laws, satisfies required mandates and equips officers with the skills needed to safely and effectively respond to a wide range of incidents. This enhances officer readiness and promotes the safety of the citizens of Orland Park.

PURPOSE

To ensure uniformity, reduce redundancy and maintain consistent training quality. Standardization supports accountability, operational readiness and adherence to state and federal standards, ultimately improving service to the community.
