2025 Police Annual Report

The department utilizes municipal violation summons as a more effective and efficient means to address minor crimes. Municipal violation summons are an alternative to a formal custodial arrest, which includes charging, fingerprinting, bonding and a mandatory court appearance. Additionally, through the Municipal Violations Hearing Officer, the offender may be ordered to participate in a specialized program that can be more tailored to address their individual particular deficiencies and needs, thus reducing recidivism.
