2025 Police Annual Report

The department achieved meaningful progress in crime reduction during 2025. Property crimes decreased by 15%, reflecting proactive enforcement strategies, increased officer visibility and strong community cooperation. Crimes Against Persons remained steady, maintaining the significant 30% reduction achieved in 2024. While these offenses did not decline further, it is noteworthy that they did not increase, demonstrating sustained effectiveness in addressing violent and person related offenses. Our officers continued to provide a high level of service while managing significant operational demands. In 2025, the department averaged approximately 620 calls for service each day. Officers conducted 10,330 traffic stops, completed 8,238 directed traffic details and performed a total of 138,211 building checks aimed at preventing crime and enhancing community safety. In addition, the department implemented the new BRINC Drone as First Responder (DFR) program, a significant advancement in public safety technology. This program allows trained personnel to rapidly deploy drones to critical incidents, providing real-time aerial intelligence to responding officers. The DFR program enhances situational awareness, improves officer and community safety, supports more informed decision-making, and often allows officers to better assess incidents prior to arrival. The integration of this technology reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation, efficiency and responsible policing practices. These accomplishments are a direct result of the hard work and commitment of our sworn and civilian personnel, along with the continued support of the Mayor, Board of Trustees and the residents we proudly serve.
