Enterprise CAD – The department performed an interface between the CAD system and Brinc – Drone as First Responder system. This provides the capability of the dispatchers to initiate a drone launch for an active incident where the drone provides real-time intelligence and situational awareness and enhance response time efficiency and effectiveness. VHF Radio System Upgrade – The department installed a new 80’ radio tower at the Orland Park Police Department Training Facility to facilitate the backup dispatch center VHF system resiliency. All personnel portable and vehicle radios have been updated and re-programmed when the department switched from the legacy VHF analog system to the VHF P25 Digital Simulcast radio network on November 18, 2025. This added the capability to switch from VHF radio to cellular as a failover should the P25 radio network experience a failure. Wolf Water Tower Renovation – The department completed the replacement of systems and equipment involved with the water tower renovation program. The department also upgraded the Ubiquiti Access Points and Antennas. This provides for greater reliability, connectivity and data throughput levels. Wave Radio System – Updated the VHF radios of the Wave system at community schools to facilitate the VHF P25 Digital Simulcast upgrade project and enhance school security. Backup Dispatch Center – Started the dispatch equipment transfer from the Old Police Department EOC Facility to the new backup dispatch center

NetMotion, Milestone VMS, Ubiquiti, ESET, Amazon Web Services (system backups), Axon Fleet and desktop/laptop operating systems. Various Upgrades - The department upgraded the existing mobile printers and CradlePoint Routers per the Department’s Technology strategic replacement plan. Automated Internet Failover – The department updated the automated internet failover methodology with AT&T via a dedicated 50 Mbps Fiber link to increase resiliency to the Departments’ internet services. LaserFiche – Continued the LaserFiche Document Management System to archive various records, provide FOIA redaction and provide rapid search and retrieval of those documents. FususOne – Continued the expansion and registration of residents and business community to the GIS map-based interface that combines private and public video streams into a single feed, enabling a greater situational awareness and a common operating picture. The department is presently enrolling individuals in the camera database. Community Alert System – Upgraded the Warning Siren System to a dedicated VHF radio link between the warning siren locations. Command Van – Updated additional equipment to facilitate additional communication and application systems. Training Room – Updated installed audio system to replace failed equipment and facilitate updated communication and application systems. TCO / CTO Training Program – An additional CTO position has been staffed and trained. The new TCO training manual and training program has been completed and initial training of new TCO staff continues as the department works towards its staffing goals.
