VILLAGE MANAGER’S OFFICE
The Village of Orland Park operates under a council–manager form of government that combines the strong political leadership of an elected governing body with the professional expertise of an appointed local government manager. The Village Manager is hired to serve the Village Board and the community by providing professional leadership in the administration and execution of policies and objectives established by the Board. The Village Manager’s Office also develops and recommends solutions to community issues, plans and implements new programs to meet the Village’s future needs, oversees the preparation of an annual balanced budget and promotes active, sustainable community relations through customer service and community engagement.
Guiding Principles To accomplish policy directives, staff will follow four guiding principles:
• Customer Service: Providing the optimum in municipal services for those who choose Orland Park as the ideal place in which to live and raise a family
• Finance/Budgeting: Maintaining and building on Orland Park’s strong reputation for conservative budgeting and prudent use of taxpayer dollars
• Professional Management: Bringing professional, market-based approaches to the delivery of public services, where possible, and working in partnership with the private sector in finding solutions to public sector challenges
• Transparency: Maintaining the Village’s strong reputation as a leader in local government transparency in the State of Illinois
The Village Clerk’s Office is responsible for storing and preserving the Village’s official records and documents, including but not limited to recorded documents, Board and Committee minutes, ordinances, resolutions, contracts and agreements.
