VICTORIAN LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS Step into the romantic world of Victorian floriography! Learn how flowers were used to send secret messages, decode the meanings of different blooms and interpret displayed floral arrangements. Participants will learn about the symbolic tussie-mussie bouquet and will be able to make their own to take home. NEW

Your membership will support programs, special events and preservation projects. A membership also provides free or discounted prices on special events or programs. Did you know that using shells in arts and crafts dates all the way back to the ancient period? By the eighteenth century, shellwork had become a popular craft for upper-class Victorian ladies. In this historic craft workshop, participants will learn about the history of Victorian shell art and “sailor’s valentines,” then have the opportunity to create their own shell mosaic to take home.
