24 OP Winter Senior Newsletter

LETTER FROM THE MAYOR

for information on the next event. I look forward to seeing familiar faces and those of you who may be attending for the first time. Please visit page 10 for important winter weather safety information. Winter is often a treacherous time for seniors and their families. This information covers the many issues you may face during the winter months. The Village of Orland Park has many other tips and information available on the Village’s website at orlandpark. org/coldsafety. Please take the time to visit that page and have a safe winter. Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you can’t remain active. If you are looking for a great way to incorporate a bit of exercise into your routine, take a look at some of the great adult and senior programs offered by the Orland Park Health and Fitness Center and the Village of Orland Park Sportsplex highlighted in this newsletter. Membership information for the facilities are also highlighted on pages 22-23. As a reminder, the Village uses a variety of communication tools to reach its many residents. This allows everyone to use their preferred method of communication to get details on news, programs and more. You

can subscribe to an eNewsletter, visit us on social media or check out the events calendar on the website to find the information you need, when you need it. As we head into the rest of 2024, I want to thank each and every one of you for all you do to make Orland Park a wonderful community. The senior population in Orland Park continues to be an integral part of the fiber of our community. I am amazed by your influence, strength and the example each of you set for the rest of the community. As always, if you have questions and/or suggestions, please reach out to any of the Village’s departments directly or visit us online at orlandpark.org.

Dear Orland Park Seniors,

We’ve had an exciting winter season here in Orland Park! From weather highs and lows to the fantastic Christmas & holiday events, it was great seeing everyone out and about and taking it all in. 2024 brings many exciting changes to the Village, including the new permanent stage at Centennial Park West, Schussler Park’s new turf fields, a new police training center and a new veterans center. Thank you to everyone who attended the breakfast events in 2023 and our first Breakfast with the Mayor of 2024 on January 13. These events are a great way to learn all about the happenings in the Village, as well as great opportunities to ask me questions in-person. Be on the lookout on the Village website and social media

Have a healthy and safe 2024!
