LETTER FROM THE CHIEF OF POLICE

Dear Orland Park Seniors,

of this publication, you will find information regarding online exchanges. Equip yourself with the knowledge you need to stay mindful and safe.

The police department has also added two incredible programs for residents to take part in. Learn about the Orland Park Police Departments Occupant with Autism program (Pg. 5) and Fusus program. (Pg. 7) Please take the time to follow the Orland Park Police Department on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to stay up-to-date on important safety information, programs and events. Thank you for your support of the men and women of the Orland Park Police Department as we continue to do our absolute best to provide optimum safety and security services to the Orland Park community.

The safety of residents and guests in Orland Park is the first and foremost priority for the Orland Park Police Department. We are proud of the fact that the Village of Orland Park has seen Index Crimes drop below pre-pandemic levels and crime in Orland Park has continued to decrease. With that being said, we must remain actively aware of those who seek to commit crimes in the Orland Park area. We ask that you, as residents of the community, do your part to let us know if you see anything that may seem odd or give you concern. As always, we ask that if you SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING and give us a call at (708) 349-4111 for non emergencies or 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency. Please be aware of those who try to take advantage of our senior population, especially during online shopping. Within the pages

I want to personally thank the families and friends who took

the time to attend our community outreach events in 2023. As we continue our outreach programs in 2024, we invite you to stay active and participate. Our department events are not only excellent ways to stay in touch with safety in Orland Park, but also foster and grow relationships with our officers. Our first Southwest Suburban Safety meeting was held at the Orland Park Civic center. This informational event allowed local agencies to provide updates on safety in the region and allowed residents to ask questions. You can view a recording of this meeting on the Village’s YouTube channel.
