Veterans Updates VETERANS DAY CEREMONY

The annual Veterans Day ceremony brought the community together to honor those who have served our country and to recognize the 30th anniversary of the Ara Pacé Place of Peace Veterans Memorial. The event celebrated the service and sacrifice of local veterans and reflected the Village’s ongoing commitment to remembering their contributions. With tremendous gratitude and pride, the Village of Orland Park added the names of the following veterans to the memorial wall: • Daniel A. Badon - U.S. Army 1966 -1968 • Michael R. Pihl – U.S. Marine Corps 1970 -1972 • Joseph C. Kmiecik – U.S. Army 1951 -1953 • Victor A. Panaras – U.S. Army 1960 -1963 • Joseph R. Ward, Jr. – U.S. Army 1861 -1865 • Matthew Wells – U.S. Army 1864 -1865 • Larry L. Lorimer – U.S. Marine Corps 1992 -1999

In addition to the Village’s annual ceremony, Mayor Jim Dodge made appearances at various Veterans Day events throughout Orland Park, attending Meadow Ridge Elementary, Orland Junior High, Liberty Elementary, Jerling Junior High, Prairie Elementary and Carl Sandburg High School. Thank you for celebrating such an important holiday and thank you again to all who have served, past and present.
