• 1st Infraction/Demerit: If inappropriate behavior continues, a staff member will have the participant sit out to reflect on their actions for five to ten minutes prior to rejoining the group. The staff member will reiterate the desired behavior and consequences should the behavior continue. • 2nd Infraction/Demerit: If inappropriate behavior continues to occur or becomes more serious, a staff member will call the participant’s guardians and notify them of the continued inappropriate behavior and the child will be removed from the activity. A written report of the incident will be sent home. • 3rd Infraction/Demerit: Immediate loss of privledges for remainder of the day. Camp Coordinator will contact guardian and provide written report of incident. Child will be put on probationary period of five days in which time any other incident will result in immediate suspension from camp for up to five days. • Suspension: The steps listed above are used to correct behavior in most cases. If these steps are unsuccessful, a participant may be suspended or expelled from the program. Please note that these steps are used as a guideline. Exact responses to behaviors are situational and depend on the severity of the inappropriate behavior. The participant may be asked to leave the program for the remainder of the day at the discretion of Recreation staff at any point and time. In the event a child is dismissed from a program for any period of time, the registration fee is non-refundable. Causes for Immediate Expulsion • Continued behavior for which camper was placed on probation • Possession of a dangerous weapon or article • Possession of a controlled substance (alcohol, drugs, cigarettes)
