Health and Illness continued Should a child become ill in school, he/she will be isolated from the other children. Parents will be notified so that the child maybepickedupas soonaspossible. Inthecaseofacommunicable disease, i.e. chicken pox, head lice, measles, Covid-19, etc., parents must notify the Preschool Office at 708.403.6208, as soon as the child is diagnosed. The name of the affected child is not released; however, preschool parents are notified of the contagious illness,and often the classroom it occurred in. Inclement Weather The Preschool Program follows the Emergency Closing Schedule of Orland School District #135, (www.orland135.org.). If it is reported on the radio or television the Orland School District #135 is closed due to severe weather, then Preschool is also cancelled for the day. Parents can listen to most Chicago AM format radio stations for school closing information or call the recreation department RainoutLine at 708.401.0043 after 8:00 a.m or download the app - RainoutLine.com and add ext. 80 to your favorites, or refer to the Class Dojo app . Cancelled classes will not be rescheduled for make-up or refunded. Pick-Up Policy All children must be picked up by their classroom ending time. In the event of an emergency, the parents are responsible for making arrangements for the child to be picked up. The Village of Orland Park has a three strike late pick-up policy. • A written warning will be given after each offense a parent/guardian is more than 10 minutes late in picking up their child. • After the third written warning, a $1.00 per minute fee will be issued after the initial ten minutes the next time the parent/guardian is late. • The late fee must be paid at the registration office prior to the participant being admitted back into the next class.
