Polish‑American Cultural Initiatives The Village of Orland Park had the privilege of welcoming Jan Król and Krzysztof Zoltek from the Polish Highlanders Alliance of North America, Polish Member of Parliament Janusz Kowalski and State Senator Michael E. Hastings for a conversation about the future of Polish‑American cultural initiatives in our community. On Sunday July 5, Mayor Dodge and Polish Member of Parliament Janusz Kowalski attended the annual Polish Highlanders Alliance of North America picnic. On Monday July 6, a meeting was hosted by Mayor Jim Dodge and Senator Hastings, who together emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural connections and supporting the region’s vibrant Polish‑American population. One of the central topics of discussion was the ongoing proposal for a Polish Cultural Center in Orland Park, an exciting project that continues to gain momentum thanks to the

dedication of local advocates and strong regional partnerships. Recent correspondence and community engagement efforts reflect growing enthusiasm around establishing a year‑round cultural anchor that would serve families across the Southland. The Village extends its appreciation to our guests for their collaboration and thoughtful dialogue. Orland Park is proud to be a welcoming home to diverse cultural communities, and we look forward to the next steps as we work together on opportunities that enrich our entire region culturally, socially and economically.
