COMMUNITY PRIDE APRIL COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION OF THE MONTH -- >> -- Christmas Without Cancer was recognized as the Village of Orland Park’s April 2026 Community Organization of the Month at the April 20 Meeting of the Village Board. Christmas Without Cancer was founded in 2003 by retired oncology nurse Gerri Neylon, beginning as a simple kitchen-table effort to bring holiday joy to a local family facing cancer, and has since grown into a meaningful source of hope for hundreds of families across the Southland region. The organization provides essential financial assistance and everyday support, including housing costs, tuition, childcare, medication and travel expenses for treatment, so families can focus on what matters most: healing. Christmas Without Cancer President Renee Copeland and Board Member Jen Clancy were presented with the Community Organization of the Month award.

<< -- MAY COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION OF THE MONTH -- Toy Box Connection was recognized as the Village of Orland Park’s May 2026 Community Organization of the Month at the May 4 Committee of the Whole meeting. Toy Box Connection distributes donated toys, books and resources to children in need, including pediatric patients, foster children and families facing hardship. Through year-round giving, community events and partnerships across the Southland and beyond, the organization continues to bring joy, comfort and support to children and families. Director of Toy Box Connection, Michelle Maxia, was presented with the Community Organization of the Month award.

JUNE BUSINESS OF THE MONTH -- >> -- Orland Square was recognized as the Village of Orland Park’s June 2026 Business of the Month. The mall, located at 288 Orland Square Drive, is celebrating 50 years of providing shopping, dining and entertainment and is a defining landmark in Orland Park. General Manager Jeff Burnett was presented with the Business of the Month award.
