100 Years Young! Please join us as we wish Orland Park resident Stella Kostelyk a very Happy 100th Birthday! Stella was born November 5, 1913, in Genoa Junction, WI. Her family moved to Illinois when Stella was a small child. Her parents were Edward and Nettie Lubbers. They began a "truck farm" at 95th and Wentworth serving the far South Side. Stella is well known in her church for baking the very best homemade bread. Her hobby is making quilts and Stella has made more than 150 of them for others. In past years, Stella would make a stack of patchwork quilts for Roseland Christian Ministries. Each quilt would have a label that said "This quilt was made with love by Grandma." Stella wanted each quilt to be given to families with a child that needed a blanket from Grandma. Stella is known for her happy heart. She loves her regular visitors, and upon leaving her house, she will always say, "Come Again." Stella has the most wonderful neighbors in the Catalina Subdivision. "It is a warm, loving community from the Orland Park Christian Reformed Church, located at Catalina Drive and Sycamore," said Stella. Happy Birthday, Stella!
