VOP Spring Public 2015

The Village of Orland Park Police Department has begun an application process with the National Weather Service in order to obtain Storm Ready certification for the village. The Storm Ready certification application process starts with meeting a General Forecaster from the National Weather Service. The Forecaster will guide the department through the process which ends with a visit to the village and an onsite review. In order to obtain certification, the department must comply with the following criteria: CERTIFICATION

4 Offering weather information to the residents

4 A review of the tornado siren network and activation policies 4 An inspection of weather monitoring equipment and other records 4 The department hopes to complete the process by the end of May
