179TH TO 159TH Construction of the permanent southbound pavement, including turn lanes and intersections, will take place. New street lighting will be added from 159th Street to 167th Street as well as installation of new traffic signals throughout the corridor. IDOT and the village are coordinating various landscape and enhancement items to be constructed in 2015. Some landscaping may need to be installed in 2016 based on the species and preferred planting seasons. 159TH TO 144TH Construction of the permanent northbound pavement and temporary pavement for southbound traffic of this stretch will be implemented. Traffic will be moved to the east side in order to construct the permanent southbound pavement. Retaining wall construction will continue and side roads throughout the corridor will be constructed on the east side of LaGrange. This will include complete closures of the side roads. Detours will be posted and a minimum of seven (7) days advanced notice will be provided by IDOT. WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2015
144TH TO CREEK ROAD Retaining wall construction and pile-supported road base will continue. Construction of the permanent northbound pavement as well as construction of the intersections of 131st and 135th will take place. Temporary pavement construction will be necessary to shift traffic to the east in order to build the permanent southbound pavement.
