APPEARANCE IMPROVEMENT

On March 2, 2015, the Village Board approved $20,000 in funding assistance for Grand Appliance and TV through the Appearance Improvement Grant program. These funds will be used to renovate the main facade of a building unit located within a four (4) unit shopping center at 14740 LaGrange Road. Highly visible along LaGrange Road, this shopping center has an outdated architectural appearance in need of an update. While the improvements at Grand Appliance and TV only include one of the shopping center’s four (4) retail units, its improved appearance will hopefully re-energize the site and inspire enhancements for the remaining units. Proposed exterior changes include ornamental stone columns, architectural block detail areas, new exterior light fixtures, a bi-level parapet wall, a masonry (brick- style) façade and knee wall, new building canopies and a new illuminated LED sign.
