Charges: Two (2) Counts of Attempted Murder, Class X Felony

On 02/19/21, Arrmon F. Burrey was transported to Bridgeview Courthouse where the Honorable Judge Margaret Ogarek issued a bond in the amount of $750,000.

Cook County Sheriff’s Department Evidence Technicians processed the scene for evidence. Preliminary reports suggested the incident was targeted and isolated.

Arrested: Arrmon F Bulley (Male/ 23 Years Old)

Orland Park Detectives were able to identify the offender’s vehicle as a black 2014 Ford Fusion, which led them to Dareaun D. Taylor out of Lynwood, Illinois. With this information, detectives were able to identify Taylor as one of the offenders in the shooting incident. On Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 3:30 pm, Chicago Police located the offender’s vehicle, which was unoccupied, in the rear alleyway of the 7700 Block of St. Lawrence. The vehicle was later towed back to the Orland Park Police Department and processed by Cook County Evidence Technicians. Orland Park Investigators learned of the offender, Dareaun Taylor’s location. Investigators, along with officers from the Chicago Police Department, located Taylor and he was taken into custody without incident, less than 48 hours after the shooting. Taylor is a convicted felon who is currently on parole for Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons.

2021 NOTEWORTHY INVESTIGATIONS

INVESTIGATION – 4 THREE CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED KIDNAPPING, ARMED ROBBERY AND INTIMIDATION

On 09/09/21, the Orland Park Police Department responded to a report of an Armed Robbery at 16101 Wolf Road. Responding Officers located a victim with numerous injuries to his head and body. This victim was transported to the hospital where he was able to provide information in relation to the occurrence. The victim is the owner of a business that specializes in the installation of interior/exterior surveillance cameras for residential and commercial properties. The victim was contacted several weeks prior to the incident by a subject, later identified by detectives as Khristaan Hillard, who requested an estimate from the victim for camera installation at an alleged new business. On 09/09/21 at approximately 7:00PM, the victim agreed to meet Hillard at 16101 S. Wolf Road. As the victim began inspecting the property for possible locations for camera installation, he was attacked by Hillard who used pepper spray on the victim, threw him to the ground and began punching him. Hillard stood over the victim and removed the victim’s car keys, wallet and cell phone. Hillard then accused the victim of stealing from his former employer, Joe Cartolano. Hillard then told the victim that he was a business partner of Cartolano’s and that the victim owes Hillard $50,000. Hillard then threatened the victim with future harm to him and his family, if he did not drop off the $50,000 to the “shop”, known to the victim as his former employer’s place of business, Audio Tech, located at 15341 S. 70th Ct. in Oak Forest. Hillard ordered the victim to stand up and then struck the victim again on the head with an unknown object. Hillard proceeded to pull a knife out his waistband and the victim fled into the surrounding cornfields. Hillard left the area and the victim was able to flag down a passing motorist, who called 911.

dropped off. Orland Park Detectives were able to locate Hillard living at the Motel Lee, located at 1234 Lincoln Avenue in Schererville Indiana. On 09/16/21, arrest warrants were secured and with the assistance of the Schererville Police Department, Hillard was taken into custody. On 09/21/21, after waving extradition, Hillard was transported to Orland Park Police Headquarters where he was charged with Armed Robbery (Class X Felony) and Aggravated Kidnapping (Class X Felony). The investigation identified James Paul and Joseph Cartolano as involved in the above crime. Paul is an employee of Cartolano’s and friend of Hillard’s. Hillard was recruited by Paul to commit the crime and Hillard was to be paid by Cartolano. On 09/09/21, Hillard was driving a car that is registered to Paul and met Cartolano at his place of business, Audio Tech. Cartolano followed Hillard to the area of 16101 S. Wolf and stood by as Hillard committed the above crimes. On 10/12/21, Cartolano and Paul were taken into custody at Audio Tech and charged with Armed Robbery (Class X Felony), Aggravated Kidnapping (Class X Felony) and Intimidation (Class 3 Felony).

The victims are recovering and have been discharged from the hospital.

Charges Two (2) Counts of Attempted Murder, Class X Felony

On 01/31/21, Dareaun Taylor was transported to Central Bond Court at 2600 South California Ave where the Honorable Judge Charles Beach issued a bond in the amount of $200,000D with a return date at the Bridgeview Courthouse on Feb 2, 2021.

On 10/14/21, Cartolano and Paul were transported to the Bridgeview Courthouse where they were held without bond.

Taylor is also being held on a parole violation.

The shooting investigation continued, leading the Orland Park Police Department to identify an additional offender, Arrmon F Bulley.

On February 17, 2021, the South Suburban Emergency Response Team (SSERT), along with Orland Park Detectives, executed a search warrant in Dolton. During the search warrant, Arrmon Bulley was taken into custody without incident.

In the days following the attack the victim repeatedly received threatening messages from Hillard, demanding the money be
