POLICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

TORCH RUN The Orland Park Police Department participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run on June 6. The officers received the torch from the Tinley Park Police Department participants and ran it to the Orland Hills Police Department. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the single largest year-round fundraising movement benefiting Special Olympics Illinois. Orland Park’s police staff participates each year to raise funds and to increase awareness for the athletes who participate in Special Olympics Illinois.

COOK OUT WITH COPS During the spring and summer months, the Orland Park Police Department hosts Cookout with Cops at area parks. Joey’s Red Hots provided hot dogs and many smiles at the cook out events. Residents are invited to come out to meet their local police officers and staff, ask questions pertaining to public safety and otherwise and enjoy a bite with their community and their neighborhood police officers.
