VAU is an all-volunteer non-profit organization run by Veterans. On Memorial Day 2018, VAU completed its first traveling Global War on Terror (GWOT) Memorial Flag. This 28-foot-wide by 6-foot-tall American flag symbolizes the shape of the flag when draped on a fallen service members casket. It is formed with over 7,050 dog tags representing all who have fallen in the War on Terror. VAU hopes to raise awareness of the sacrifice of our nation’s heroes that keep this country free and flying under one flag. The VAU Fallen Heroes Memorial was at the Taste of Orland Park from August 4-6, outside Village Hall. With thousands of visitors, it was one of the higlights of the event. VAU Fallen Heroes Memorial
