A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR PEKAU
We are pleased to make available the Village of Orland Park's Recreation and Parks Summer Program Guide. In this edition, you will find a variety of children’s camps and programs for all ages and interests. The Village offers a great variety of summer events from Concerts in the Park, the Veterans Liberty Run, Fourth of July fireworks and concert, the Centennial Park West Concert Series and the 20th anniversary celebration of the Taste of Orland Park. In August, we will gather in support of Veterans at the Veteran’s golf outing. The weekly Market at the Park will kick-off on June 8. Each week will feature a variety of craft and food vendors, kid’s activities and music. The popular Vintage Baseball Game at Stellwagen Farm is back this year as is the farm stand at Boley Farm featuring seasonal fruits, vegetables, jellies, jams, honey and more. Check out this summer’s children’s camp offerings on pages 5-12. Here you will find a variety of camps including Day Camp and Sportsplex's Sports Camp, as well as Minds in Motions Camps, Snapology Camps, Little Vet Camp and a wide selection of athletic camps and programs. The Sportsplex and Orland Park Health and Fitness Center offer a large variety of cardio and strength equipment, along with a full complement of group exercise and specialty classes. View each of the facilities' options for fitness and fun within this program guide. The long days and warm temperatures are a perfect opportunity to enjoy the Centennial Park Aquatic Center, rent a kayak, pedal boat or fish at Lake Sedgewick. Be sure to take time to enjoy the Village’s many parks, playgrounds and walking paths. The DogOut Dog Park provides dog owners an opportunity to let their pet run and make friends, while owners enjoy the tranquil setting of Centennial Park. I encourage you to mark your calendar and attend the many great events and take part in the myriad of recreational opportunities available in Orland Park this summer. I look forward to seeing you out and about.
