PATHLIGHTS

Pathlights is a non-profit resource center with case managers who focus on caregivers’ well-being, providing opportunities for respite services to give 24/7 caregivers a break, self-care trainings, support groups, and more. In Southwest Suburban Cook County, Pathlights is the “go-to” community resource. Our programs and services are needs-based, and most are available at no cost. We serve people across all financial levels and some programs follow specific eligibility requirements.

September 18 | 10 a.m. | Wednesday Our monthly support group gives you a chance to talk with other family caregivers in similar situations, share experiences, advice, and words of encouragement. Meets on the third Wednesday of every month. CAREGIVERS CONNECTING, VIRTUAL VIA ZOOM

October 2 | 10:30 a.m. | Wednesday MEMORY CAFÉ, ORLAND PARK PUBLIC LIBRARY Pathlights & Orland Park Public Library host Memory Café for people living with dementia and other forms of cognitive impairment and their care partners. Join this social activity and participate in an engaging activity! Meets on the first Wednesday of every month.

September 19 | 1 p.m. | Thursday While taking care of a friend or family member may be a labor of love, it can also be extremely stressful. Kandis Draw, Community Education Associate and Research Liaison for the HAP Foundation will discuss the stressors that caregivers may face. Together, you will explore tips and strategies for self-care. To register, visit orlandpark.librarycalendar.com UNDERSTANDING CAREGIVER STRESS AND SELF CARE STRATEGIES, ORLAND PARK PUBLIC LIBRARY GRANDPARENTS RAISING CHILDREN SUPPORT GROUP, VIRTUAL VIA ZOOM September 23 | 11 a.m. | Monday Join grandparents and other relatives raising children for inspiration, encouragement, and education about local resources. Meets on the fourth Monday of every month.
