TORCH RUN On June 4, the Orland Park Police
Department took part in the annual Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch run to raise awareness and funds for Illinois Special Olympics. The officers received the torch from the Tinley Park Police Department participants and ran it to the Orland Hills Police Department. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the single largest year-round fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics of Illinois. With the help of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, athletes and their families are able to participate in the Special Olympics of Illinois at no cost. The Orland Park Police Department has participated every year for the last 31 years.
GUNS & HOSES CHARITY HOCKEY GAME March 16 marked the first ever charity match between the Orland Park Police Department/Orland Fire Protection District and the Eagles Hockey Club. All proceeds benefited the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois and the Eagles Hockey Club. Thank you to everyone who attended, participated and donated to such a great cause.
