Pathlights Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) counselors will guide those approaching Medicare, current enrollees, and caregivers of enrollees through Medicare basics. Attendees will get a thorough overview of Medicare and better understand how SHIP counselors can assist in navigating the Medicare system. Pathlights is partnering with Orland Park Public Library to host Memory Cafe at the library on the first Wednesday of every month. This event is for people living with dementia and other forms of cognitive impairment and their care partners. This month is Music Therapy with the Greater Chicago Music Therapy. Music therapy is a clinical and evidenced-based practice that uses music to engage, support, and build connection. Music is a powerful tool for people with dementia as it enables the brain to have successful engagement and participation even late into the disease progression. Mia Iliopoulos Krings, MM, CDP, MT-BC will encourage the participants to sing, play instruments, connect with each other, and have fun at the Memory Cafe! Registration Required.
