2014 SUMMER SENIOR COFFEE Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin hosted his annual Summer Senior Coffee earlier this summer at the Orland Park Civic Center. Hundreds of area seniors attended to learn more about senior safety while enjoying coffee and refreshments. The presentation included important information about personal safety for seniors, preventing ruse burglaries, crimes of opportunity and more. Orland Park Trustee James Dodge moderated the discussion. Orland Park Police Chief Tim McCarthy and Orland Park Trustee/Public Safety Committee Chairman Dan Calandriello were featured guests. “Our hope is that more residents will become aware of the types of crimes where seniors are targeted,” said Mayor McLaughlin. “Simply knowing what to look for and how to avoid certain situations can prevent the crimes from occurring.”
