SCHUSSLER PARK ALL-INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND

In partnership with Michael and Kendall Schofield of the Schofield Family Foundation, the Village of Orland Park is excited to introduce a campaign to develop an all-inclusive playground that allows children of all abilities to play, learn, interact and grow.

Our Goal: To build a universally designed, sensory-rich play environment that enables children of all abilities to develop physically, socially, cognitively and emotionally together. A truly inclusive playground is more than just accessible; it is an environment that facilitates parallel play in which children of all abilities play side-by-side, engaging with each other, and laying the groundwork for more complex social stages of play. At an inclusive playground, all children, regardless of ability, can interact with each other and do what all kids want to do... play.
